TTC Review

You may have heard of the TTC mechanical switch but are not familiar with it. TTC was mainly based on foundries at first, and most of the independent mechanical switches promoted by many high-end brands on the market were entirely by TTC foundries. They are very popular with custom players.

The feeling is generally similar to the Cherry MX, Still, it is more professional in material selection and structural configuration and has obtained many patents.

What is the difference

Longer life - (Component selection)

The components of the mechanical switch can be roughly divided into five parts: shaft core, spring, cover, bottom case, and the moving plates. The spring is the most significant difference between TTC and other switches.

Cherry MX adopts an ordinary single-section spring, while the TTC adopts a double-section long spring. The longer the spring length, the more elastic it is, and the faster the rebound speed and feel better.

Besides, the moving plates and spring of the TTC switch are gold-plated, which is more resistant to oxidation. Therefore, the critical service life of the TTC switch is more than 100 million times, and the life of most other switches is only 50 million times.

Better dust-proof design and sound-absorbing - (Structural design)

Cherry or most other mechanical switches use a standard cross-axis core. The problem with this shaft design is that there will be a particular gap when pressing the button, which is easy to enter dust, affecting the feel and service life of the switch.

The TTC switch adopts TTC's patented double-sided wall switch core design. When the button is pressed, the dust-proof side still fits the upper cover of the switch, and no gap is generated. It effectively solves the problem of dust entering the switch cavity. Improve the service life of the body and the stability of the core.

In terms of noise reduction, the mute switch of TTC adopts the TTC patented double-safety noise reduction structure design. Soft noise-absorbing parts are designed at the collision between the switch core and bottom case and at the waist of the switch core. It can reduce friction sound and bottoming sound to reduce noise.

Lower trigger error - (Quality control)

As can be seen from the data in the above figure, the trigger pressure error of the Cherry MX and other switch is 15gf, while the TTC switch is only 5gf. Therefore, the TTC switch is significantly stronger than the others in term of button consistency.

Conclusion

Whether it is structural design, component selection, or quality control, The TTC customized switch is slightly better. Friends who have higher requirements on the mechanical switch can try the highest configuration of CIDOO's new release - ABM084.
